About the Faculty: BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH – Christina E. Shalley Chris is a Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management in the Georgia Tech College of Management at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She received both her Ph.D. in Business Administration and her M.A. in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Chris has also been a faculty member at the University of Arizona, and has worked in human resource management positions at companies, such as, IBM and the American Foundation for the Blind. Chris teaches courses in Bargaining and Negotiation, Human Resource Management, and Organizational Behavior, and has been the recipient of a number of teaching awards. Chris has been actively involved in the Georgia Tech College of Management College’s executive education courses, conducting sessions on such topics as negotiation and conflict resolution, communication, employment legislation, and other human resource management issues. Chris’ research interests include examining the effects of
various contextual factors in enhancing or stifling employees'
creativity, ways to structure jobs and the work environment to
support creativity and innovation, and investigating the
prioritization of multiple goals for different performance
outcomes. Her work has appeared in various academic journals
including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management
Review, Creativity Research Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology,
Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Research
in Personnel and Human Resource Management. The practitioner
outlets that she has published in include, the Academy of
Management Executive and R&D Innovator. |
